11. Julie4 McKenzie was born circa 1806. She was buried on 12 April 1846 at
St.Francois Xavier, Manitoba, Canada . All that is known of her is that she was born out
west. The daughter of a McKenzie and an Indian girl whose name was unknown. |
(There was talk in the family that this lady was the
daughter of the Alexander Mc Kenzie, who after returning to England was Knighted for his
exploration of the Western regions of present day Canada. In all the books that I have
read on this man , he of course denied having left any "Half Breed" children
behind. As these Metis people did not have the habit of telling lies , the story of her
relationship to dear old Sir Al is no doubt true, what reason would they have to lie? I
personally would not claim him as a relative after his denial and his claim to celibacy.
It shows his true character. MDB)
